On 25 May 2022, the Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Budapest organized “Taste Thai Night”, a Thai food cooking demonstration and Thai gastronomy promotion event in Romania at MercatoKultur, Bucharest, Romania. The event was presided over by Ms. Sirimit Siripala, Charge d’Affaires, a.i., Royal Thai Embassy, Bucharest, and Ms. Tapanee Kruangpradit, Director of Office of Commercial Affairs in Budapest.
Moreover, Ms. Prakaipruek Damrongvadha, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Prague Office, and Mr. Bogdan Gilgor, TAT Representative of Balkan Office in Bucharest, were invited to promote the opening up of Thai tourism at the event.
The event aimed to promote Thai gastronomy among the Romanian audience, popularize Thai food products and restaurants in Romania, and support the market entry of Thai restaurants into the Romanian HoReCa sector, which is one of the emerging markets with the most potential.
To create an awareness of Thai cuisine in Romania, Thai cooking staff from ISAN Thai Kitchen hosted a live cooking show of the famous Pad Thai. Moreover, to offer the whole experience of Thai experience, they prepared free samples of authentic Laab Gai (spicy minced chicken salad), lime-flavored chicken meatballs, and Mango Sticky Rice, which were well received by the guests.
The successful event was attended by over 100 people, mainly representatives from Romania-based media and social influencers. Moreover, due to the location of the food garden in the diplomatic neighborhood, several diplomatic corps members of various nations visited the event.
