From 1 November 2022, 09.00 hrs. (UTC+7), foreign nationals, whose current residences are in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Montenegro, Romania, and Serbia, can apply for a Thai visa through the new online e-Visa platform at

Applicants are recommended to apply for the visa in advance 2-4 weeks before the expected date of arrival in Thailand. All visa processes and payments are done through an online system, therefore submission of passport and original supporting document at the Embassy is no longer required. Visa fees cannot be refunded in all cases. Once the visa application is approved, the applicant will receive proof of visa approval by email. The application must print the proof of visa approval and present it to airlines and Thai immigration officials when traveling to Thailand.

It is no longer required for the applicant to submit his/her passport and original supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy. However, some applicants may be called for visa interviews at the consular section.
